Driftwood Moon - Moon Mail

February Update

I hope this newsletter finds you all well after the holidays and ready for a dynamic 2012. Driftwood Moon has been busy, and we have a few changes about which we'd like to update you.

First of all, we have a brand new website! It can be found at the old address, www.driftwoodmoonband.com, and has lots of new features for you to explore. We worked with our friends at Lone Star Internet to develop the site, and we'd love to hear your thoughts on it. For those of you who need web development or hosting, I can't recommend Lone Star Internet highly enough - they are a joy to work with!

One of the features you'll find on the website is a new "Music" tab. Hover over this tab and you'll see a popup that will lead you to our updated song list as well as some mp3s of the band. The mp3s were recorded live at various performances around Central Texas, and will give you a flavor of what we're up to now. Who knows, you may even hear yourself singing along! The mp3 popup takes you to our new Reverbnation account, http://www.reverbnation.com/driftwoodmoonband. Please head over there and become a fan on Reverbnation - there is some cool stuff there for you to see and listen to.

Also, if you're not already aware, we have a presence on Facebook and Twitter. Our Facebook URL is https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Driftwood-Moon-Band/103476116362331, and we'd very much appreciate it if you would visit the site and give us a LIKE! Our Twitter feed can be found at: @Driftwood_Moon. As with these newsletters, we will not send out a bunch of spam, so you don't need to worry about being inundated with junk mail.

Like I said earlier, we've been busy. We played New Year's Eve at one of our favorite places in San Antonio, Drew's American Grill. If you haven't been to Drew's, you owe it to yourself to make the drive. The food is absolutely wonderful, and it's a nice, relaxed place to hear some music in their full-service bar. We played again at Drew's on January 21st, and (more importantly!) we'll be there again this Saturday night. The Drew's performance will be our only show in February, as we’ll be taking some time before our March shows to get some new music ready to go.

We're also fresh off a 2-night stand at the San Antonio Rodeo BBQ Cookoff. I'd like to send special thanks to Cowboy's Alamo City Harley-Davidson and Allied Waste for hosting the shows. We were glad to be a part of their celebration at the rodeo, and their cooks were amazing - the BBQ was outstanding!

When you see us next, you'll see a new face onstage. Please welcome our new drummer, Gil Jenkins, who is a veteran Austin musician who's performed with artists such as W.C. Clark, The Grey Ghost, and for the past 15 years with his own band, The Blues Crawlers. I think you'll find that Gil has a very cool groove and brings a lot to the band.

As a final note, we'll start our monthly shows in Wimberley at Ino'z in March. We'll be there March 24th and April 14th, and we'll be scheduling more shows with them soon.

We hope to see you soon at a show, and make sure to come say "hi"!
